Scheduling for Next School Year

The transition to 9th grade can be both an exciting and intimidating time in your child’s life. With many changes to be expected, we strive to prepare each student for this next phase in their academic career.

School counselors will meet with all 8th graders starting in February for an annual review and planning for 9th grade. Please review the High School Course Description Guide for information, course offerings, and programs. You can also review the 9th grade course selection sheet for guidance.

In April, your child’s course selections will be available on the Portal for your review. Any changes can be made with the school counselor by email, phone or in person by the student by May 1st. Once course selections are sent to the high school, changes must be made with your high school counselor.

Current 6th and 7th grade students will also be notified when course requests and course descriptions are available on the Portal for review. Foreign Language requests for incoming 7th graders were made at your child’s annual review with a school counselor. All requests are based on availability and not guaranteed.

All students will be notified when the schedules are available on the Portal at the end of August. Information will be mailed home with information regarding building
orientations.
